Many of us have tried just about everything to find fulfillment. We've tried drugs, booze, dysfunctional relationships, food, work, play, fast cars, fast women, school, video games, etc. The list could go on and on. We've tried a lot. But in the end, many times, we feel like we come up empty. Often, fulfillment in drugs leads to addiction, empty bank accounts, and eventually an empty house with no loved ones. Fulfillment with booze ends up with a shot liver with a belly larger than a pregnant woman. The problems don't go away. Through drinking, the problems just get hidden away to be dealt with later if ever at all. 'Eating our feelings' often leads to just getting heavy. Pursuing wealth can bring some benefits but oftentimes the soul remains feeling empty. We obsessively pursue pleasure but so many of us are angry, violent, depressed, anxious, bitter, unhappy, and miserable. So, what's the answer? It's not pumping our bodies full of hormones of the opposite gender. The answer, the right answer, is quite simple. We need to humble ourselves, admit to God and ourselves that we are sinners, ask God to forgive us, and turn our lives over the Jesus Christ. If we do that, we will be at the door of true peace and fulfillment. We will begin a journey to discover who we really are and who we were really destined to be. We will be placing ourselves into the hands of our heavenly Maker. If we let Him, He will mold us into something more beautiful than we would have ever imagined. We will be people who desire good things in our hearts, even though we will be tempted at times to desire the bad. We will desire to help other people while we are trying find our way. God will lead us down a path that improves our lives. He will encourage us to make choices that strengthen our bodies and minds instead of making choices that take away our health. We will begin to understand what true love really is. We will experience what it is like to have a Friend who sticks closer than a brother. We will have someone who will never leave us nor forsake us. We will have someone who will be with us through the thick and thin. In all, we will never be truly alone ever again.
