The Good Fight. In Paul's final writing before his death, the great apostle reflected upon his life. He summarized his life as fight a specific kind of fight, one he described as "the good fight." What a profound truth. There are different types of fights we can involve ourselves in. There is actual warfare. There are various causes, such as animal rights, women's rights, economic development, etc. Note that Paul reserved his fight for "the good fight," What is the good fight? In Paul's case it was spreading the good news of Jesus Christ. Paul called this cause as a "fight," it was not easy. Paul frequently was beaten, jailed, and eventually even eventually beheaded. Paul's fight was a real fight but not one over land, money or an earthly crown that fades away upon death. Paul's fight was telling the world about Jesus Christ! He proclaimed the good news that all people have the privilege of getting forgiveness and knowing Jesus Christ. Paul knew his battle was against spiritual forces of evil. In conclusion we all have the option of fighting. the good fight if we choose. Paul's life is eternally relevant. I, too, pray my life is eternally relevant.
