Saturday marked the final chapter in this New Orleans Bible giveaway outreach as my family and I traveled to nearby Baton Rouge and delivered 60 care packages to the homeless, street people, and people living on the brink of homelessness. The packages included a Bible, bottles of water, 2 sandwiches, toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, and shampoo. To my surprise, the packages took about one hour to deliver. I shouldn't have been surprised since the needs are so great. These packages bring the total number of Bibles given away to almost 500 since I arrived for my New Orleans travel nursing assignment in early May. In all, most of the Bibles were distributed in modified newspaper/magazine boxes I set up at two New Orleans businesses. Of the 500, about 170 were distributed to the homeless. It was distressing seeing so many homeless people suffering in the intense heat and humidity. One such man's circumstances were especially troubling as he arrived in an old beat-

up old truck with his young children in his truck. I thought, "What a fine young man despite whatever faults he might have. He is doing his best provide for his young children. There stands a real man even if he doesn't think so." Now this Bible delivering outreach moves to Athens, Ohio, in mid-August where I have accepted another 3-month travel nursing assignment. Please pray God leads this outreach so it accomplishes what He wills.
